DIY Deep Moisturising Chocolate Mask

chocolate face mask

I thought we’d have a little fun this week.

Straight from the kitchen cupboard to your lovely skin.

Did you know that luxurious chocolate facials are one of the most popular treatments in day spas right now?

If you don’t have the time or the spare cash to invest in one of these treatments I can show you how to make your own deep moisturising chocolate mask at home.

What’s in a chocolate face mask?

Cocoa is full of antioxidants and skin firming nutrients that give your skin a huge lift immediately.

I’m going to add some honey as it is a super skin hydrator and has great anti bacterial properties.

And the third and final ingredient is a vitamin packed, skin loving fruit or nut oil.

Lets do it!

I’ll give you different recipes for different skin types. So choose the one that is right for you.

I always recommend you use organic ingredients where possible.

But if you don’t have access to organic you can use conventional.

*patch test your skin first if you have concerns about putting new ingredients on your skin

Recipes for different skin types:

Dry / Dehydrated / Mature Skin

In a bowl combine:

  • 1 tsp organic raw cocoa
  • 1 tsp organic honey
  • 1 tsp organic macadamia oil, or jojoba oil, or coconut oil

Oily / Combination Skin

In a bowl combine:

  • 1 tsp organic raw cocoa
  • 1 tsp organic honey
  • 1 tsp organic hazelnut oil, or jojoba oil

Sensitive / Normal Skin

In a bowl combine:

  • 1 tsp organic raw cocoa
  • 1 tsp organic honey
  • 1 tsp organic olive oil.

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and apply to your face.

I used a concealer brush to mix mine and then painted my face with it.

You can use a spoon to mix it and your fingers to apply it if you don’t have a brush handy.

Try not to lick your fingers. Ok lick them a little.  This mask tastes delicious!

As soon as this mask goes on your skin you will feel it’s velvety richness.  It is gorgeous.

After 10-15 mins rinse with tepid water and a face cloth and pat dry.

Lightly apply your usual moisturiser to finish off the treatment.

Your face will feel soft, hydrated and renewed.

Have fun!

I’d love to hear how you felt after making this delicious treatment at home
