I’ve been using Proactive and my skin has totally broken out. Nothing is working. I’m 23 and my skin type has always been normal/combination. I'm thinking I need a whole new regime... Is there any advice you can give me? What do you think I should do?

“I can imagine how upset this must be making you. It sounds like your whole natural oil system has been thrown out of whack. We need to start drawing out the blockages that are causing the breakouts and balance your natural oils again. As your skin is so irritated I’d recommend our moisturiser for sensitive skin as it has wonderful anti-inflammatory properties to reduce your redness.”

Products to use:

  • Jojoba and Geranium Facial Cleanser (this gentle cleanser with Geranium helps natural oils to stabilise)
  • Rose Skin Refresher (as a toner after cleansing as it is an excellent tonic and hydrator)
  • Chamomile & Rosehip Face Lotion for sensitive and normal skin (to soothe skin and calm any sensitivity)
  • French Green Clay (This mask will gradually draw out your blockages and reduce your breakouts)

Your New Beauty Ritual:

Daily
Cleanse / Refresh / Moisturise

Weekly
French Green Clay Mask (use twice a week if you love how it makes your skin feel)

I’ve been having micro dermabrasion and my skin has become really dry. Can you help?

“Your skin is going through a big upheaval with all that exfoliation. Lets be ultragentle with it and give it some nourishment and protection.

As your skin is not producing enough natural oils we need to use a gentle, hydrating cream cleanser (that wont strip your skin) and follow it with a gentlemoisturiser that will provide you with daily protection and nourishment. An eyecream would be hugely beneficial as dryness can lead to fine lines developing. After two weeks of your skin settling into the new products add a night time ritualof Rosehip Regenerating Serum for extra nourishment.”

Your New Beauty Ritual:

Everyday

Jojoba and Geranium Facial Cleanser
Rose Skin Refresher
Chamomile & Rosehip Face Lotion for sensitive and normal skin
Eye cream

After 2 weeks:
At night, start using 3 drops of Rosehip Hydrating Serum under your Face Lotion

I’ve got crazy chin and jaw acne. Solid lumpy things. Help!

“Ok we need to draw out the blockages causing the breakouts and stop them from spreading.

We’ll use a gel based cleanser with lots of detoxifying lemon essential oil to give your skin a thorough but gentle cleanse. We’ll follow it with Rose Refresher as it is toning and gently astringent. We’ll finish with Rosemary & Bergamot Face Lotion as it contains antibacterial essential oils to treat the pimples and stop them from spreading. Twice a week Green clay masks set about the job of safely drawing the blockages from your pores, instantly calming them and reducing their size.”

I’m really conscious about some finelines I’ve seen recently on my face. What should I do? I don’t want to look old!!

Products to Use:

  • Carrot & Frankincense Face Lotion – morning and night
  • Rosehip Regenerating Serum – at night under lotion
  • Eye cream – at least 3 times a week at night

I’ve been getting facials as I have some blackheads on my chin. They’ve been doing extractions and have given me a pretty harsh cleanser and exfoliator to use at home to draw them out. But it’s wrecking my skin and I’m breaking out. Can you make me something?

“My motto when it comes to skincare is gentle gentle gentle.
You want to calm the irritation that your skin is experiencing and gently draw blockages to the surface and away.
Beating them into submission just isn’t going to work as you’ve discovered.”

I’ve come up in a rash on my face after using my new mineral bronzer. Help!!

“Ok stop using your bronzer, today.
Your skin has become sensitised so we need to calm and soothe it and treat it with some anti-inflammatory essential oils.”

Your New Beauty Ritual:

Use Chamomile & Rosehip Face Lotion for sensitive and normal skin every morning and night until it settles down again.
Oh – and no makeup on your skin until it has healed…sorry :)

I had my legs waxed and I’ve come up huge pus filled pimples. What can I do?

“The waxing has resulted in some of your pores getting blocked and an infection has developed. We need to draw out the blockages”

Your New Beauty Ritual:

Use a French Green Clay mask on the area every day for 10 minutes until it settles to draw out the infection and cleanse your skin.

Follow with an antiseptic cream or you could use Scented Holistic Skincare Rosemary & Bergamot Face Lotion for oily & breakout skin as it contains excellent antiseptic essential oils.

My doctor told me all this beauty advertising is rubbish and that I only need to moisturise with Sorbolene? What do you think?

“Sorbolene is generally just a petroleum based moisturiser that places a barrier on your skin. It doesn’t nourish your skin in any way so I’ll have to say that I totally disagree with your doctor.

A basic sorbolene ingredients list may look like this:

De-ionised water, glycerine, sorbital, light mineral oil, cetyl stearyl alcohol, stearic acid, triethanolamine, wheatgerm oil, cetamacrogol, imidzaolidinyl urea, methyl paraben, tetrasodium EDTA and paracresol.
Yep. It’s actually full of nasties.”

Your New Beauty Ritual:

I have some wonderful moisturisers available full of vegetable oils, herbal extracts and essential oils that will protect, hydrate and improve the condition of your skin. I truly believe you’ll love using them and you’ll never go back to Sorbolene again!

If you have any skin care concerns you would like advice with you can email me and we’ll work out a new beauty ritual to get your skin looking great.
